Your spotlight on local services

Find services

Advocacy and complaints

Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham cannot investigate specific complaints, we look for trends or issues from what you have told us about your experinces. However there are organisations in place that are able to offer you services if and when you need to make a complaint or need to use a advocacy service.

Healthwatch England has worked with Citizens Advice to produce a series of consumer guides to help people understand the current system and who they can contact, plus practical tools to make sure that the complaint is raised in a way that means it will be heard. You can find the guides here.

NHS Choices is the online 'front door' to the NHS. It is the country's biggest health website and gives all the information you need to make choices about your health. At the bottom of this page, you can find information about hospitals, GPs and dentists and urgent care. As well as basic contact details, you can also find feedback from other people about what they think about these services.

It's not just limited to NHS information. You can also find information about other services in your area (often provided by charities) that can help you with conditions from Alzheimers through to weight loss.

myhealthlondon is an award winning information website for health services in London. We believe that information about health services should be available to all Londoners and the fastest and most convenient way to do this is by making it available inline.

Social care

Barking and Dagenham Council is working to improve choice and information about social care services for older people, adults with learning and physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss or mental health issues. Visit its website Helping you live the life you want.
