Volunteering

Now recruiting volunteers!

Volunteers play a vital role in helping people have their say on health and social care. Volunteering with Healthwatch can help you develop skills, gain experience and make a difference to your community.

We currently have many volunteer opportunities available. You can apply by downloading the application form at the end and email or post it to us. All volunteers will receive a full induction and proper training will be provided where required.

Healthwatch Champion

Healthwatch Champion is a role that getting involved with the local community and chatting to people. You will represent a group/ward within the borough of Barking & Dagenham and gather people’s views on local health and social care services. For example collecting data via questionnaires and assisting with focus groups, feeding findings back to the Healthwatch team.

Enter and View Representative 

Enter and View representative is a role that you are trained to visit health and social care services. During the visit, you will be speaking to people, observing the services in these premises. Full training will be provided.

Research Assistant Volunteer

Research Assistant Volunteers will be involved in conducting research focusing on health and social care services in Barking and Dagenham. The research we are working on are making real impact to the community. This will provide valuable insights to the NHS leaders and services providers thus improve the local health and care services! This opportunity will develop your research skills and help you to gain invaluable work experience particularly related to health and care sector.

Social Media Volunteer

Social media volunteers will be establishing and/or maintaining Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham social media accounts. By taking up this volunteer role, you can improve and excel in your social media skills. At the same time, you are helping us to develop an engaging social media presence which more local people voices are being heard.
