My work experience week at Healthwatch - Lily
31/07/2024
Throughout my week in Healthwatch, I have been given many opportunities that have helped me immensely along my work experience journey.
On Monday, I was introduced to the majority of the Healthwatch team. Along with a couple of meetings throughout the day, I got started on a blog about the Dental appointments in the NHS, mainly focused on the quality and quantity of these appointments.
On Tuesday I continued working on my blog and finished it quite early in the day, so I continued to support with some social media activity.
On Wednesday, I went out with Agne to Future Zone for a Baby event to push out surveys and collect feedback, this event mainly consisted of women and children that were there to socialise.
For Thursday, I experienced working from home and completed a feedback log on the surveys collected on Wednesday (which was set out on an excel spreadsheet) and started a summary of the Healthwatch annual report 2023-2024.
Lastly on Friday, I continued the summary and wrote this reflective blog.
Overall, the work experience at HealthWatch opened a lot of doors for me and highlighted the importance of surveys and what they can do for communities upon completion. I have improved my time management, organizational, and punctuality skills.
Genuinely, it was great to experience a mixture of office-based work, working from home and going to events that have been planned out on different days.
Ultimately, I truly appreciate this opportunity and the lovely people that I have met that have helped me get started on my future work life.
