Simple wound care appointments can now be booked by phone
12/06/2023
A new service in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge are currently being trialled for patients requiring simple wound care. This pilot by NHS North East London in partnership with local GPs and North East London Foundation Trust aims to reduce the number attendances at A&E and Urgent Treatment Centres as well as provide high quality service for residents.
Appointments were available through online booking system when the service launched on 1 October 2022. A telephone booking facility has now been added and is live now to support residents who are unable to book appointments online and will run until 31 March 2024. These improvements have been developed based on the learnings from the recent phlebotomy pilot which has considerably improved for residents needing phlebotomy services in the three boroughs.
