A new catheter helpline for Barking, Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge residents

To give patients who use catheters access to care and guidance to assist them deal with any problems they may be having, a new advice line has been established.
The advice line is intended for those who are not housebound and mobile, reside in Havering, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, own a suprapubic or urinary indwelling catheter, and are aged 18 years and over.
You can call the helpline for advice if a catheter is obstructed or bypassed, a catheter needs to be routinely changed, catheter bags need replacing or for any other inquiries concerning your catheter.
This advice line is not for individuals who fit the requirements for the District Nursing Service and are housebound, Individuals who would typically have their catheter changed in a hospital environment because of severe bleeding and those without a current NHS number.

On weekends, bank holidays, and after hours, please call NHS 111 or go to A&E in case of emergency if you're having problems with your catheter.
