Introducing our newest organizational members
16/02/2023
Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham is growing and as part of this process we want to build and develop relationships with various organizations and services. A vital part of our role is to reach people from different backgrounds and communities so that we can use their voice and experience to shape NHS and social care services. To help us in this role we offer a free membership to local organisations.
This month we would like to shine a light on two of our newest members.
Health Park Community Centre
Heath Park Community Centre has reopened in 2022 following being closed for three years as a friendly and welcoming place for all. It has a community café and designated Warm Space, it also provides activities and community events. You will find something for everyone at Heath Park Community Centre.
Laburnum Health Centre
Laburnum Health Centre expressed an interest in the role we play for the local community and how we work with local services to improve quality of care. Our team were invited to one of their team meetings to present on our role and what we offer to residents. Now that there is a better understanding of the Healthwatch service, the staff will be spreading the word among patients and new staff. We are very excited about this networking opportunity and believe it will bring numerous benefits to all parties involved.
You can find more information about these organizations here:

Do you offer a free service in connection with health, care, or wellbeing to people living or working in the borough? Would your organisation like to become a member of Healthwatch Barking and Dagenham and be featured and acknowledged in our newsletter as well as our social media posts? Would you like your organization`s profile to be raised and service events advertised (that are related to health and social care) as part of this membership?
Your contribution to shaping NHS and social care services is very valuable to us. If you wish to become a member, you can download our application form and information sheet below.
